Rod Smith
First ultra marathon completed and what a challenge, think I went through every emotion out there.
12 hours on the feet but to travel 55 miles over the fells with the support I got from fellow runners and family is not something Iโm going to forget ๐. Although my legs feel as though they never want to run again I'Il be back after some well earned rest days. Massive thanks goes out to Ben for running 27 miles with me and keeping me head strong when moods got low, I would of struggled to the finish a lot later than I did without you ๐. Rob and Norm for coming out to support on leg 4 and to come to see me finish on the pier with the kids thanks guys ๐ . Big big thanks goes to my family yesterday and everyday some who couldnโt be at the finish unfortunately but know what it takes to complete these crazy things and to Mum and Dad, Tom who came down to the train station at 4:40 to see me and then supported along the way until the chippy tea ๐. Fred who came out and ran leg 2 and always hearing the voice shouting encouragement over the fields, and nice to see Grace, Lucas and Hollie at the finish it can be a lot to be at every finish of all our races but itโs always welcome โค๏ธ
I stuck to the plan Iโve worked towards with Mags never thought Iโd complete an ultra but drive, determination and lots of training and sacrifices anything is possible ๐
Thanks to everyone who supported through messages, followed the tracker and have donated to the Cystic Fibrosis Trust ๐ page is still open if people want to give me a ยฃ1 for ruining my body for 12 hours ๐
